My name is Alexandra Salcido (you can just call me Alex) and I am a graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's of Science in Visualization. Like most people who are starting their college career, I had absolutely no idea where my future would take me. Growing up I was always the student that when teachers would say "We're starting an art project", the entire class would glance back at me because they all knew that this was my strong-suit. Luckily for me, as a senior in high school on a campus tour, my mom and I stumbled into the Architecture building at TAMU, where I had what you call an "aha" moment.  The moment I walked into that building and saw posters for animated movies, demo reels, functioning game designs, and branding projects ... I glanced at my mom with a look she had never seen on my face before and told her "This is it. This is what I want to do, what I need to do!"  Ever since that day I have worked tirelessly, while never forgetting the passion that fueled this long journey and am proud to say that I have a degree that has allowed me to specialize in Graphic Design, 3D Modeling and more!
I was born and raised in the West Texas town of El Paso by my incredible parents alongside my younger sister! I have been more than grateful to come from such a loving and encouraging family who wholeheartedly support my dream of being an artist. Coming from such a strong Hispanic community and being a Hispanic woman myself has had a strong impact in my designs. I enjoy incorporating Spanish culture into my designs when and where I can and I also enjoy being able to create work that empowers women (check out my Women in History tab)!
When I'm not working, I like to enjoy the simple things in life! Whether it's spending quality time with my small circle of friends, eating anything with chocolate in it, curling up to watch a good movie, antique shopping, or of course enjoying a number 1 with cheese or any of the All-Time Favorites from Whataburger!
