Professional Overview
Hey there! I’m Alexandra (or just Alex) Salcido, a graphic designer from El Paso, Texas, with a love for all things creative. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019, where I majored in Visualization and stumbled upon my passion for graphic design (best "aha" moment ever). Since my time there, I have become proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite which includes InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom. With five years of experience, I now get to work with top-tier sports teams like the NFL, MLB, and NBA at Legends Hospitality, creating sleek presentations to custom templates and everything in-between. I've got a knack for blending style with function while maintaining brand integrity and making sure every project not only looks good, but gets the job done.
I’m always looking to grow and push my boundaries as a designer—whether it’s experimenting with new techniques and tools or diving into a project that challenges me in a new way. I thrive on learning and would consider myself a "student for life." My goal with projects is to not only meet my client’s needs but to exceed expectations, all while keeping things fun, kind, positive, and stress-free. I work hard to make sure every project is the best it can be, and I do it with a positive attitude.
Through innovation graphic design, I can help infuse personality and depth into your brand. Let's connect!
The Creative Behind the Screen
When I’m not creating, you can find me rewatching my favorite sitcoms, out shopping for the best deals with friends, or hunting for treasures on Facebook Marketplace or at thrift shops (because, let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good find at a bargain price?). I’m a big fan of collecting plants. I have a bird of paradise plant named Kevin who is about to outgrow my apartment at a whopping 8ft tall. I FaceTime my parents just about every day—they’re a big part of keeping me grounded, in addition to my faith. I have been more than grateful to come from such a loving and encouraging family who wholeheartedly supported my dream of being an artist.
What makes me really giddy is mid-century modern design, vintage Americana, retro typography, and that nostalgic, grainy aesthetic. Growing up, I was always watching old Godzilla movies, Laurel and Hardy comedies, and reruns of Mystery Science Theater 3000 with my dad, which sparked my love for all things corny, quirky and imperfect. As a night owl, I tend to work late, jamming out to great playlists which span everything from classical orchestras, iconic film scores, indie rock, nostalgic folk (think John Denver/Fleetwood Mac vibes), pop, and classic rock. Feel free to give my playlists a listen to get to know me on a musical level, linked above!
And if there’s dessert around, just know it’s as good as gone—I can’t resist a sweet treat.
